During our discussions with biologists over the years, more often than not we heard complaints that contract laboratories just don't provide the level of analyses needed to properly conduct eutrophication studies in freshwater lakes and rivers. Understanding the importance of data to the biological interpretation of ecological systems, Chadwick Division increased it's services to provide the water quality analyses needed for limnological studies in 1997.

Since we are biologists, we understand the importance of being able to measure nutrient concentrations at levels they occur in the natural environment (which can be orders of magnitude lower than effluent samples). Our low level nutrient analyses will provide determinations of phosphorus and nitrogen species in the parts per billion range - a level necessary for meaningful interpretation of limnological data.

In addition, lake studies also require a measure of productivity. So, we provide analyses of algal pigments - i.e., chlorophyll a, from lake samples. From a human health perspective, the safety of lakes for recreational activities is also important. Thus, Chadwick Division can offer a variety of analyses for coliforms in natural waters, including E.coli.
